The Beginning
A painful lesson in consistency
Heya,
We're all set now with the new newsletter infrastructure, many things going on, lots to share, BUT, let's start at the beginning.
Business Lesson - Consistency
This concept has always fascinated me and even though I've been quite consistent on a personal level, with things such as fitness, health habits, etc., my business consistency has been far from impressive.
I'm currently in a good flow of productive doing and I believe THIS time I will keep it up, but there were periods of time where we definitely dropped the ball on consistency when it comes to building the business - DULO.
Here's a thread on this from this year, before I even got serious about Twitter:
My biggest takeaway from building @weardulo approx 6 years ago is that we (me and @maringerov) gave up on stuff waay too early.
We were relatively early to starting a podcast, a vlog, a blog, a newsletter, etc., building an online presence in general. ๐งต

If you read the thread you will note a mention of people that started with us and are now very far ahead of us just because they were consistent.
I also mention that we had a podcast and had episodes with them, so here they are:
Oliver Anwar
1. The Early Days Podcast S2E8, air date Apr 20, 2018, guest - Oliver Anwar.
Oliver, or Ro, at the time of this newsletter, is at 103.9k Twitter followers and running a successful online coaching business. In other words - crushing it big time.
Pat Walls
2. The Early Days Podcast S2E29, air date Dec 6, 2018, guest - Pat Walls.
Pat, at the time of this newsletter, is at 52k Twitter followers, starting to crush YouTube at 56k subs. Along with his business starterstory.com, which is generating millions. He's also one of the biggest proponents and ambassadors of small businesses and solopreneurship, which makes him a living legend.
For context, I'm at around 60 Twitter followers (literally laughed when I wrote it). But as you know, I've been ramping up my Twitter game and it's starting to show, I started with 5 about 2 weeks ago!
The difference between me and those guys, I stopped.
Is it a lesson learned, I THINK SO, but it took me 5 years longer to learn it.
Is it demotivating, NO, it's motivating. I'm planning on catching up in the second half. ๐

A Piece of the Story - The Beginning
This is where we start to build the brand universe around the business. The business is a performance smart wear brand, so the idea is to create a universe where performance and physical capability are core values. At times even superpowers ๐คซ

Chapter I
Rain drummed rhythmically on the shoulder of a tall man standing at the peak of a mountain, his red hair slicked back against the downpour. He squinted into the distance, seeing two other shapes materializing through the sheets of rain and mist. He was confident, self-assured, no stranger to challenging conditions. But something was off. He couldn't remember how he got here.
Further away, a woman, poised and nimble, was feeling the roughness of the rock under her fingertips, an instinctual familiarity guiding her movements. But how did she end up on this mountain peak, soaked to the bone, with no memory of the ascent? Her eyes caught a glimpse of the man in the distance, a look of shared confusion passing between them.
Close to a stream flowing with a current strong enough to rival the downpour, a third figure slowly pushed himself up. His clothes were wet, but he seemed unfazed, the coolness of the water against his skin feeling oddly comfortable. He felt a pull towards the other two figures.
Each started moving toward the others.
The incessant drum of the rain was suddenly drowned out by a deep rumble from within the mountain. The earth beneath them shuddered, sending a tremor through their bodies. Rocks and stones began to shift and slide, causing the trio to steady themselves. As they found their footing, a chilling roar echoed from deep within the peak.
The man with the red hair squinted into the torrent, eyes narrowing at the sight of a hulking shape emerging from the mist. The woman's hand instinctively tightened around a rock, her body poised for an attack. Near the stream, the third figure's gaze hardened, his fists clenched.
Suddenly, with a roar that shook the mountainside, the beast look ready to charge toward them. The trio reacted instinctively. The woman shifted her weight, her fingers touching the stone in a way that created a mini shockwave. The red-haired man, his gaze unyielding, moved fluidly, the heat of his body intensifying, drying the rain that was falling on him into steam. Near the stream, the man extended his arms, and the water responded, rising slightly, as if to protect him.
The trio felt that for the task ahead they were a team, their confusion replaced by an uncanny sense of knowing, a familiarity with their strange abilities. Even with the beast's roaring ringing in their ears, their faces were set, determined. They held each other's gaze for a fleeting moment, recognizing the silent commitment they shared.
The creature reared again, undeterred, but they were ready. Their strange circumstances presented them with an unexpected trial. Their memory might have been shrouded in darkness, but their instinct illuminated their path. They had a fight to win. This was their new beginning.
