DTC+: The State of Job Enjoyment

A leadership problem.

This newsletter was supposed to be on the topic of “Leverage”.

I nearly pressed “SEND” , but then deleted the whole thing.

It had good points, but lacked structure and vision of where I wanted to go with it.

It was all over the place, not bad, but messy.

I saved the draft for later, but it had a line in there that gave birth to this newsletter, which I felt is more timely and complete:

Even the best people, put in an idiotic process, will fail.

Too often I hear friends, people in general, complain about their jobs.

Too many of them and they can’t all be incompetent.

It highlights a) an epidemic of people disliking their job and b) much too frequent cases of bad management and leadership.

Bloated corporations with redundant processes, or startups with founders that are not good leaders, nor are they working on becoming one.

It’s like the initial draft of this newsletter, the ingredients were there, but it completely lacked structure and vision.

Unfortunately, ingredients on their own can’t make a dish, they need a chef.

Have a great week and lead with purpose,

(applicable not only in the office)

Julian
